Pocket Tools (pocketstools.com) is operated by an individual developer based in the Republic of Korea. This policy explains what the products access, what leaves your device, and what is stored. Contact: [email protected]

Summary

Nothing you write is transmitted anywhere, and the developer cannot read it. One feature stores text: the undo history keeps short excerpts of what a replacement changed, inside your own document, so that the replacement can be reversed — see What is stored.
There is no advertising and no third-party tracking on this site or in the products, and no analytics product is used in either. One product keeps a count of how often a paid feature is asked for and how often the purchase link is opened, so that the developer can tell which paid features are wanted and whether people go on to buy; that count holds no document content and no settings — see How your data is protected.
Google user data is not shared, transferred, or disclosed to anyone — not sold, not given to advertisers or data brokers, and not used to train AI or machine-learning models. See Who Google user data is shared with.
Your content is processed inside the host platform while the product runs, and is not retained afterwards.
What little is stored is held inside your own Google account, encrypted at rest by Google, and cannot be read by the developer. See How your data is protected.

Find & Replace with Preview — Google Docs add-on

Shows every match before anything changes, then replaces text and formatting in the open document. It requests three permissions and nothing else:

Sets the open document's page size and margins — custom width and height, book trim presets, and all four margins. It requests three permissions and nothing else:

Adds numbered captions to images and tables in the open document, inserts cross-reference links that jump to them, renumbers them on request, and builds lists of figures and tables. It requests three permissions and nothing else:

Screenplay & Script Format for Google Docs

Formats the open document as a screenplay: it reads each line, works out what kind of screenplay element it is, and gives it the standard indent, spacing and case. It also inserts a title page, numbers scene headings, and exports the formatted document as a PDF. It requests three permissions and nothing else:

Maxable for Google Sheets

A linear programming solver. It reads the model in the open spreadsheet by changing the cells you named and watching your formulas respond, solves, and writes the optimal values into those cells. It requests three permissions and nothing else:

Style Presets for Google Docs

It saves how the open document looks — its named styles, and optionally its header and footer, link styling and list bullets — and puts that formatting on another document. It requests three permissions and nothing else:

What is stored

A few things you choose are saved using Google's Apps Script Properties Service. This data is stored by Google inside your own account, is scoped to the product, and is not readable by the developer:

Saved searches (Find & Replace) — the search and replacement settings you explicitly choose to save, under a name you give them. These may include the text you searched for, because that is what makes a saved search useful. Nothing is saved unless you press Save.
Your interface language (Find & Replace), if you set one.
Saved page sizes (Page Size & Margins) — the page setups you explicitly choose to save: width, height, margins, and the name you give one, if you do. Nothing is saved unless you press Save.
Which documents the free version has been used in (Page Size & Margins) — to count the free limit of 3 documents, the add-on keeps Google's identifier of each document it has applied a page size in. The identifier is not the document's name and contains nothing from its contents.
Nothing at all (Sort Paragraphs A-Z) — beyond the license values in the next line, this add-on writes nothing. It keeps no document identifiers, no history, and no settings; the checkboxes reset each time the sidebar opens.
Nothing at all (Captions & Cross-References) — beyond the license values in the next line, this add-on writes nothing. Captions are recognised from the document text itself each time the sidebar needs them, so there is no stored copy to keep, and no history and no settings either.
Your page setup and indents (Screenplay & Script Format): the settings shown in the Settings dialog: US Letter or A4, whether measurements are shown in inches or centimetres, and the five indent positions. They are saved so that formatting is the same the next time you open a script. Nothing from the document itself is kept: which kind of element each line is, is worked out again from the text every time you press the button.
How many solves you ran today (Maxable): one short entry in your own Google account, the date and a count, used only to apply the free daily limit. It is overwritten each day and is never sent anywhere. Nothing from the spreadsheet itself is kept: the model is read again from your cells every time you press Solve.
The presets you save (Style Presets) — for each one, the name you gave it and the formatting it holds: the nine named styles, and whichever of header and footer, link styling and list bullets you ticked. If you tick header and footer, the text inside the header and footer is part of the preset, because that text is what gets put on the next document; nothing else from the document body is kept. Also saved: the snapshot taken just before the last apply so that Undo works, the values a named style had before your first edit so that Revert works, which styles you switched off or removed, and where the hand-formatting scan last stopped. Deleting a preset deletes what it held.
Your license key and its status, if you buy one, so you do not have to re-enter it: the key itself, the anonymous installation identifier it was activated with, and the values that record when it was last verified successfully and when it expires.
What was replaced in this document (Find & Replace) — the undo history, a paid feature. To be able to reverse a replacement, the add-on records each one it made: which paragraph, the position, the text that was there before, and the text that replaced it. This is the one place where wording from your document is written down rather than only held in memory. It is stored with the document itself rather than in your account, it is written only when you actually run a replacement, and only the most recent 20 runs are kept — older entries are discarded automatically as new ones arrive. A replacement long enough to run in several passes keeps the same record, with the same excerpts in it, as a pending entry in the document until the last pass finishes, and it becomes an ordinary history entry then.

Nothing else is stored. Apart from the undo history described above, the document's contents are read into memory while a search runs and are gone when it finishes — they are not written to storage and they do not leave Google's infrastructure.

What is sent outside Google

For free features, nothing is sent outside Google's infrastructure.

If you activate a paid license, the product sends only the license key and an anonymous installation identifier to the payment provider (Lemon Squeezy) in order to verify that the license is valid. Document content, file names, and personal information are never included in this request. Payment details are handled entirely by the payment provider, who acts as merchant of record; the developer never receives or stores your card information.

Google user data is not shared, transferred, or otherwise disclosed to anyone. It is not sold, rented, or traded. It is not given to advertisers, data brokers, analytics providers, or any AI or machine-learning service. Pocket Tools operates no server and no database of its own, so there is nowhere for it to be sent.

The developer does not disclose Google user data for legal or any other purpose, because no copy of it exists outside your own Google account.

How your data is protected

Security procedures are in place to protect the confidentiality of your data. Pocket Tools operates no server and no database of its own, so there is no copy of your data on the developer's side that could be lost, altered, or disclosed. The measures below apply to every product listed above.

Encrypted in transit. This site is served only over HTTPS. The one request the add-on ever makes to an external service — the license check with Lemon Squeezy — is made over HTTPS as well. Nothing is transmitted in the clear.
Encrypted at rest. The few settings the add-on stores are held by Google in the Apps Script Properties Service, inside your own account, where Google encrypts them at rest. Nothing is stored anywhere else.
Not reachable by the developer. That storage is scoped to the product and to your account. There is no administrative console, database, export, or log through which the developer could read your document content or your saved searches.
Almost nothing is logged. The add-on writes exactly one kind of log line and nothing else: a short marker recording that a paid feature was asked for, or that the purchase link was opened, so that the developer can tell which paid features are wanted and whether people go on to buy. That marker is a fixed word. It carries no document content, no settings, and no license key. The single error the add-on is able to raise likewise carries a fixed message with no document content in it. Separately, Google’s Apps Script platform keeps its own record of every run of every add-on; that record is Google’s, is outside the developer’s control, and has always existed.
Least privilege. The add-on requests the narrowest document permission Google offers (documents.currentonly), which reaches only the one document you open it in — never your Drive, and never another file.
Held only in memory. Document content is read while a search runs and is gone when it finishes. It is never written to storage, and it never leaves Google's infrastructure.
No human review. No person reads your Google user data. There is no support workflow, and no other workflow, in which your document content is shown to anyone.
Protected developer accounts. The Google account and the Google Cloud project that publish these products are protected by two-step verification, and access to them is limited to the individual developer who operates Pocket Tools.
Incident handling. Should a security issue affecting user data ever be identified, it will be investigated on discovery, corrected, and disclosed on this site.

Google API Services User Data Policy

This section applies to the Google Workspace add-ons listed above.

Pocket Tools's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

Google user data is used only to provide the features described in the add-on's listing.
Google user data is not transferred to third parties except as required to provide those features.
Google user data is not used for advertising.
Google user data is never used to develop, train, test, or improve generalised artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models, whether our own or anyone else's. The products contain no artificial-intelligence or machine-learning component of any kind.
Google user data is not read by humans, except with your explicit consent for support purposes, or where required by law.
Google user data is not sold under any circumstances.

Data retention and deletion

Because no document content is stored, there is nothing to delete on the developer's side. The settings a product does store — saved searches, saved page sizes, and your language choice — are held in your own Google account's add-on storage, not on any server of ours, and you can delete them from inside the product at any time. Uninstalling revokes the product's authorization, but it does not delete that storage: we uninstalled the add-on, installed it again, and the saved searches were still there, in a document that had never been opened with it. So delete anything you want gone from inside the product before you uninstall. The undo history is different: it is kept with the document rather than in your account, and Google describes that kind of storage as shared with “all users of an add-on in the open document” — so anyone you share this document with who also uses the add-on can open that history and read what the text was before you replaced it. It does not follow you to your other documents. It also trims itself — only the last 20 runs survive. To clear it on demand, use the “Clear this list” button on the history panel — it removes that record from the document; the document’s text itself is not changed. You can revoke access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Children

The products are not directed at children under 13 and no data is knowingly collected from them.

Changes to this policy

Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above. Continued use of the products after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
