Google Workspace add-ons
Add-ons and extensions for the software you already work in β built to fix a single specific annoyance, and nothing else. Made and maintained by one developer.
Search Google Docs by text, by formatting, or by both β see every match in a list before anything changes, then replace. Footnotes, headers and footers included.
Set any page size in Google Docs β custom width and height, margins, and the book trim presets self-publishers use, like 6β³Γ9β³. The built-in dialog stops at eleven presets; this adds the box to type into.
Sort selected paragraphs or table rows in Google Docs, in place. Docs can sort a table by a column but cannot sort plain paragraphs at all; this does that, and keeps bold, links and bullets with each line.
Numbered captions for images and tables in Google Docs, cross-references that jump to them, and one-click renumbering when things move. Docs has none of this built in; anyone writing a report or a thesis notices fast.
Write a screenplay as plain text in Google Docs, then format the whole document in one click. Docs has no script template at all; setting screenplay indents by hand means a different ruler position for every kind of line, for the length of a feature.
Save how one Google Doc looks, then put that look on another. The nine named styles with 16 properties each, plus header and footer, link styling and list bullets. It shows you which styles will change before it changes them, and one click puts the document back.
A linear programming solver for Google Sheets. Point it at the model you already have, press Solve, and the best values are written to your cells. Sheets has no built-in solver; this one reads your formulas by nudging them, shows its progress, and never sends your sheet anywhere.
